Businesses with Facebook brand pages can’t afford to ignore the mandatory timeline format guidelines. Ready or not, on March 30th, 2012 Facebook will be switching all profile pages to the mandatory timeline format that we all have been noticing. With this new update, comes different rules that we all should be aware of. Businesses with a brand page can’t afford not to pay attention.

Facebook Timeline Guidelines
There are 3 major points that Facebook listed on their “Facebook Page Terms.” The points are:
- General
- Page Management
- Page Features
Page Features requires more attention since it contains the most details with 5 subtitles; it covers advertising on pages, profile cover, applications on pages, offers, and promotions. It’s paramount that you follow these guidelines if you use Facebook as a business profile page. It looks like Facebook is cracking down on spam.
Private Messaging
Facebook has decided to allow people (customers/fans) to send private messages to companies with profile pages. One of the main reasons companies were afraid of the social network was their reputation being tarnished by an angry customer online, which is understandable. Perhaps this new messaging will alleviate the anxiety.
No More Landing Pages
Due to the fact that many brands were manipulating the “like” button and tricking people to share their links. Losing these landing pages limits everyone to only having one default-landing page. Mainly the businesses with multiple landing pages will have the negative impact of the new guidelines.
In conclusion, don’t let the door hit you where the sun doesn’t shine. Get familiar with the new Facebook timeline guidelines. will you give me advice for how to remove the time line theme and getting old theme?
Unfortunately, there isn’t an option available to switch back to the old theme. Many business owners are asking the same question do to the fact that they are limited free promotional options in the new theme. Perhaps in the near future Facebook will give us the option.
